Projection, installation & live performance.
First devised alongside musician Jannis Carbotta and presented as a 40" movement solo at Kultur Bunker Müllheim in Cologne, Germany (August 2021).
Projection and the re-enactment of 'tipping point;' experiment series, which instigated the research process of choreographing ‘dead heart’, as well as a 10" performance excerpt presented at TTEERRIIBBLLEE event #02 in Amsterdam in November 2022.
Here, the appellation ‘dead heart’ is employed as a spatial metaphor for a central void, borrowed from a term used by colonisers to describe the center of Australia.
This so-called ‘dead heart’ of the country is a place of great activity, which is barely perceived or acknowledged by non-indigenous Australia.
The lilies are one of a series of experiments conducted to capture a moment where this silent activity surfaces for all, revealing itself in a ‘tipping point’ or climax.
It alerts us of the immense, undetectable activity which is constantly spinning around us.
